As the founder and director of Plan Z Media Andres Tapia-Urzua has always provided media production services of recognized quality with a distinctive, friendly, no-nonsense approach to technology. More than twenty years of experience working in a variety of projects have nurtured his theoretical knowledge as well as a genuine understanding of the mediums that PZM represents.

He is also an electronic media artist who practices in video, music and installation. Born in the U.S. and raised in Chile, his work continually explores the liminality of a cross-cultural, cross-technological identity. Fusing aesthetic, theoretical and political issues, Tapia-Urzua has a complex, well informed, and provocative sensibility.

He is both a Mid-Atlantic Media Arts and Pennsylvania Council on the Arts Fellow. Twice nominated for a Rockefeller fellowship, his work has been exhibited in such venues as the Pacific Film Archive in Berkeley, California; the Global Multimedia Interface, London, UK; and the Biennial of Video and Electronic Arts, Santiago, Chile.
